Recently, 20 members from our local Hicksville Boys and Girls Club were treated to the opportunity to witness the greatly anticipated grudge match between the New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils at Nassau Coliseum.
Club members were awarded prime seating behind the goalie’s net, providing an action packed, exciting experience for the young teens. The rivalry did not disappoint as the two teams engaged in an aggressive, hard-fought battle – resulting in a stalemate for almost three complete periods. The Devils were able to turn up the intensity, scoring three goals in the final two minutes of the game, earning victory over the home Islanders by a score of 3-0.
At the end of the game, each teen received a free Islanders T-shirt and an exclusive VIP pass to meet and greet Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro.
Hicksville Boys and Girls Club would like to thank the New York Islanders Organization and Rick DiPietro’s Charity Ticket Program for recognizing the importance of giving back to our youth and communities, and also providing amazing experiences and memories that will not be forgotten.
