Family Fair, Book Sale

A giant Mother’s Day Family Fair will be held inside the Farmingdale Library, Merritts Road, on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Something for everyone! For  information, call 516-454-6813 or 516-244-0829. Special note- the Farmingdale Library will also be holding a book sale in conjunction with the Fair. Great bargains on used books.

Homemakers Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Farmingdale Chapter of the Homemakers Council of Nassau County on Tuesday, May 7 at Ellsworth Allen Town Park, Motor Avenue, Farmingdale at 10 a.m. New members welcome.  Join for programs and refreshments. Contact Barbara at 516-249-0976 for information.

Plant Sale

The Farmingdale State College Ornamental Horticulture Department will hold a plant sale on May 7, 8, and 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at the college campus greenhouses, entrance off the campus’ north entrance on Route 110. Choose from a wide variety of flowering annuals in flats, baskets and pots. Many Farmingdale-grown vegetables, perennials, tropicals, and houseplants available.

Ladies, do you love to sing? Twin County Chorus has a place for you. Women of all ages who enjoy singing are invited to join the Twin County Chorus of Sweet Adelines International in the joys of a cappella harmony.

Non-sectarian memorial service held for the remembrance of all brethren who are still listed as POW-MIA. Service on May 11 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis DeChantal, 1309 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh.
