Barbara Jean Linthicum – O’Lague – Kirschner, 84, long-time resident of Farmingdale, died peacefully at home in South Carolina with her daughters and granddaughters by her side.
A memorial service will be held at the Farmingdale Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1600 Merritts Road, Farmingdale on Saturday, June 15, at 6 p.m.
Barbara was born Sept. 14, 1928 in Wayne County, IL to Claude Alvin and Lora Dicie (Pennington) Linthicum. She moved to San Francisco, CA where she married Robert M. O’Lague in 1949. She enjoyed horseback riding, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family. They moved to Farmingdale, in 1962 and divorced shortly afterwards. She was a devoted mother who raised three girls with great love, taught us the value of hard work, and the importance of family. She was known for her steadfastness, loyalty and her kind and generous spirit. She loved God and put Him first and foremost in her life. She dedicated her life to him 50 years ago and was faithful to the end. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was predeceased in death by her parents; her brother, Edward Linthicum; a half-brother and two half-sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Kirschner, whom she married Oct. 30,1993; her brother, Gerald “Jack”(Theresa) Linthicum; a sister, Reba (Vernon) Humphrey; her three daughters, Robin (Steve) Einstein, Terri (Lawrence) Bell, and Karen Kissane, three granddaughters, Veronica Einstein, Nicole (Kenneth) Walsh, and Fiona Kissane; a grandson, Jonathan Bell, as well four step-granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, fourteen step-great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and close friends.
