Paul Wasser, Administrator of Somerset Gardens Senior Living in Plainview has received the 2013 Assisted Living Administrator of the Year Award from the New York State Center for Assisted Living (NYSCAL). The award was presented on June 25 at the 2013 NYSCAL Awards program during the association’s annual convention in Verona, NY.
Paul has served as administrator of Somerset Gardens since 2010. During his tenure he has established continuous quality improvement programs for all departments and built a substantial referral base with surrounding communities. He has also established support groups for families of memory impaired residents, memorial service programs and multiple resident therapeutic groups to address the various needs of the residents. He has earned an MBA from Dowling College and a BS in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s College.

The NYSCAL Administrator of the Year Award recognizes an adult care/assisted living administrator who demonstrates outstanding innovation, achievement, and capabilities in their provision of high quality person-centered care in a service-oriented culture in an adult care/assisted living community.
Winners received an engraved obelisk and were invited to attend the NYSHFA/NYSCAL annual convention.
