Authorities have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for raping a woman in Valley Stream State Park over the Labor Day weekend.
The victim was walking along a hiking path near the Hendrickson Avenue entrance to the park when she was sexually assaulted at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, according to New York State Parks Police.
Nassau and state police searched the area for the suspect with K-9 units and helicopters but the suspect escaped apprehension.
The suspect is described as a black man between 29 and 35 years old about 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a thin build and short hair with braids on the side. He was wearing black pants and a white t-shirt.
