Greek Festival

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 20 Field Avenue in Hicksville will hold their annual Greek Festival on Friday, Sept. 6 from 5 to 11 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 7 from noon to 11 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 8 from noon to 11 p.m. Free parking at National Grid on New South Road in designated areas with shuttle service. The local farmers’ market continues through October on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the municipal parking lot, #7, behind A Taste of Long Island on Main Street.

Memorial Service

The Farmingdale United Methodist Church at 407 Main Street will hope an open prayer service on Sept. 11 from noon to 7:30 p.m. for quiet reflection and prayer to mark the 12th anniversary 9-11-01. All are welcome.

Parade

The Farmingdale Hawks Youth Football League will hold their season kick-off parade on Sept. 14 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Step off from Howitt parking lot, left on to Cherry Street, right on Grant Avenue. Parade proceeds to Main Street, making left, crossing Route 109, right on Motor Avenue to Allen park.

Dance

Veterans Barbecue

Nassau County will host the third annual veterans’ barbecue, rain or shine on Sept. 20 at Eisenhower Park, parking field 6. Lunch will be served and entertainment will include a live band.
