Last year’s American Girl Fashion show hosted by Our Lady of Mercy was a tremendous success raising over $24,000 for Our Lady of Mercy School with over 800 people from all over long island attending the event. “The gym was transformed and the decorations were wonderful!” said one attendee from Bethpage, “and the food was delicious!”

This year’s fashion shows will once again feature local girls from the community modeling American Girl Fashions on loan to Our Lady of Mercy from American Girl Programs, Inc. Our Lady of Mercy is having a “model search” for girls who are either size 6x or 10 to model during the shows. If you would like information about modeling, please see the fashion show website,  www.americangirlfashionshows.com.

American Girl Dolls are a contemporary phenomenon that teaches young girls about periods in American history by telling the stories from the perspective of young girls living in that time period.  The American Girl stories cover topics such as poverty, racism, and war, and present these topics in way that young girls can understand.  Each American Girl Doll comes with its own line of clothing, accessories, and storybooks.
