St. Peter of Alcantara School’s middle-school pupils recently elected four new officers to lead their student council for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Students at the Port Washington school’s grades 6 through 8 voted for Kieran Dennis as president, Julia Caccavo for vice president, Hannah Contino as secretary, and Timmy Bergin as treasurer. Each eighth-grade officer has siblings who either currently attend or graduated from St. Peter’s, and is eager to make his or her mark at the school.

Following these students’ elevations, eighth-grade teacher and student council moderator, Ms. Elizabeth Cashin, stated, “I have known these fine students for the past few years and I am proud of their accomplishments. I look forward to working with them in their respective new positions as terrific role models for their peers and the younger students at our school.”

Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, St. Peter of Alcantara School, a parish school within the Diocese of Rockville Centre, serves children aged pre-school through grade eight.
