Golden Homecoming For the Eagles

On Oct. 12, Bethpage High School students kicked off homecoming with a parade, featuring several festive floats sporting the eagles blue and gold. Filling the street, the procession included a performance from the marching band, routines from the cheerleading squad, the homecoming king and queen, as well as several parents, teachers, faculty and staff.

After the parade, the Bethpage High School Football team hit the gridiron to face off against Plainedge.

Although the Golden Eagles weren’t able to stave off a 12-yard TD in the early goings of the second quarter, Bethpage’s Yoannis Estathiou would rebutt with a TD of his own, tying the game at 7-7 at halftime.

Tied with eight minutes in the final quarter of the game, Estathiou out ran the Plainedge defense for the win. The Golden Eagles beat the Plainedge Red Devils 13-7. Securing another ‘W’ with a 38-0 victory over Manhasset, on Oct. 19, the Golden Eagles are now 5-1, locking them in a three-way tie with Plainedge and Lawrence for the conference with only two games remaining in the season.
