Donal E. Keller, DDS, 89, of Leesburg VA, formerly of Manhasset and Westhampton Beach, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. He is survived by his: beloved wife of 61 years, Barbara (Feuer) Keller; adored children and their spouses, Andrew Keller MD (Gillian), Jane Gordon (Lawrence), and Marjorie Powers (Alan); beloved grandchildren Benjamin Keller, Emma Keller, Hailey Gordon, Bradley Gordon, and Matthew Powers; nephew Michael Glaubman (Nancy) and niece SueEllen Ebertz (Mark); many friends, cousins, and his devoted caregiver Jorge Villena.
At 5’2”, his wife considered him, at 6’, to be a handsome gentle giant of man. He was known for his ice blue eyes, dry wit, unconditional love, thoughtfulness, and loyalty. Born in Santa Monica, CA to the late Flora and Jack Keller, he was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He was a proud graduate of James Madison High School, OSU (varsity fencing team), and NYU College of Dentistry.
He served as Lieutenant Senior Grade in the U.S. Navy. For 50 years, he practiced dentistry in Manhasset, in private practice and as the director of dental services for St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY. Everyone whom he touched will miss him forever. Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Can’t Get Me (www.cancercantgetme.org), and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
