Farmingdale Schools Jingle All Week Long

To better get into the spirit of the holiday season, students in the Farmingdale School District celebrated with a week-long series of winter performances from the various bands, orchestras, and choral groups throughout the six schools in the district.

Kicking things off, the students in the Northside Elementary School’s junior chorus and orchestra wowed the crowd of students and parents with their performance on Monday, Dec. 16.

The next evening, Tuesday, Dec. 17, students in the Farmingdale High School symphonic band, directed by Barbara Lieberman, and the symphony orchestra, directed by Samuel Gelfer, performed to a packed house.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, students in the Saltzman East Memorial Elementary Schools performed two concerts, one in the early morning and another in the afternoon for parents and students.

Following in the footsteps of the Saltzman students, the Woodward Parkway Elementary School Senior chorus, orchestra, and band performed two shows. Under the direction of Mrs. Korn, Ms. Mannino, and Mrs. Hartmann, the Woodward Parkway students performed two shows—one at 9:40 a.m. and another at 1:45 p.m.—which were open to both students and parents.

The week-long concert series ended with a grandious performance by the Farmingdale High School Women’s chorus, mixed chorus, and wind ensemble.
