Open House At HANC
The Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, 25 Country Dr. in Plainview, will hold a kindergarten open house on Dec. 25 at 9 a.m. The school will provide experienced and certified teachers who will demonstrate the warm and nuturing learning environment that parents can expect. Visitors to the Atria in Plainview, 12 Washington Ave., will delight in the vocal stylings of Sean Mahoney, who will perform Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. He is a professional singer with 35 years of performances including live shows/groups, opera, musical theater, and back up singer for Paul Anka, Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka, and Lou Rawls. Flap-Jack Breakfast for Alex
On Dec. 28, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., the American Legion Post 449 in Farmingdale will sponsor a flap-jack breakfast at the Airport Plaza Applebee’s. The event is being held to benefit the son of one of the Legion’s members, Alex, a former Farmingdale EMS, and recovering cancer survivor. Tickets cost $13. Chopin & 19th Century Paris
The award-winning Karkowska Sister Duo comes to the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 Old Country Rd., Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. for a musical tour of 19th century Paris, home to many of the most important composers in the world. Clutterers Anonymous (CLA)
A 12-step self-help group, offers help and support to those who have clutter problems in their homes or workplace. Plainview Lions Club Meeting
Serving the Plainview-Old Bethpage and Bethpage communities since 1957, the Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second Wednesday of every month through July.
