Farmingdale Chamber No. 1 Again

The votes are in for the 2014 Best of Long Island competition, orchestrated by the Long Island Press and the Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and once again, the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce has taken the title as No. 1.

“We’re extrememly excited,” said Chamber President Beth Mignone, of Mignone and Son Construction Corp. in Farmingdale.

Previously awarded the gold in 2012, the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce was picked by online voters for their dedication to serving the heart of the greater Long Island business community.

However, in 2013, Farmingdale was usurped as Long Island’s top chamber, taking second place behind Medford.

This year, the Farmingdale Chamber has once again risen to the top, claiming the title as the Best Chamber of Commerce on Long Island for 2014.

“We’re very proud,” Mignone said, excited that the chamber had been voted number one. “Its like being a momma.”

Since its inception, the Best of Long Island competition has quickly become the largest business awards program in the region. Currently in its ninth year, the competition features over 5,000 nominees in 450 different categories. Between Oct. 1 and Dec. 15, people are eligible to vote online, selecting the top local businesses and organizations around Long Island.
