For the entire month of December, the Island Trees Memorial Middle School’s SADD Club and National Junior Honor Society collaborated to collect gifts for the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. A tremendous amount of gifts were donated by students, staff, parents, and community members.
On Dec. 19, USMC Staff Sgt. Gomez visited the Island Trees Middle School to collect the donated toys. During his visit, Staff Sgt. Gomez spoke to the members of both clubs and thanked them for coordinating the donations. Thank you to the students in both clubs and their advisors—Ms. Lindsay Cain [SADD], Mrs. Debbie Nieves [National Junior Honor Society] and Mrs. Holly Harouche [National Junior Honor Society] for their fantastic work in collecting presents for children in need in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
