In Floral Park, Our Lady of Victory School’s (OLV) mission is for every student’s Catholic Faith to become alive, conscious, and active through exceptional instruction. OLV School fittingly adjusts itself to the circumstances of advancing times – incorporating the very latest in technology on a daily basis. At the same time, OLV School educates its students in the timeless pursuit of promoting the welfare of all people, while preparing them to serve the advancement of the people of God.
The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week (CSW) 2014 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” The annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2014 is Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. CSW raises awareness of and celebrate the distinctiveness of Catholic schools.
CSW is about strengthening relationships between all those that have a stake in Catholic schools – students, staff, families, priests, parishioners, and members of the wider community, by showcasing what happens in the schools everyday.
Schools celebrate CSW with masses, open houses, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and the community at large. The 2014 theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic education.
Open House at Our Lady of Victory, at 2 Bellmore St. in Floral Park, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 26 following a 10:30 a.m. mass, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. For information visit www.olvfp.org or call 516-352-4466.
