Peter Liappas died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 25. Stricken with ALS Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (commonly known as Lou Gerhig’s disease) in 2009, he passed on the fifth anniversary of his diagnosis. Peter is survived by his wife, Connie, and two sons, Costas and Nick.
A viewing was held at the Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset, on Tuesday, Jan. 28 followed by the funeral at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Port Washington on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the ALS Association, Greater New York Chapter.
