Kashi Japanese will soon be a tenant at the just-renovated building at the former site of Jewel of India at Florence Road and Jericho Turnpike in Syosset.

The new restaurant, with locations already in Huntington and Rockville Centre, will be serving up specialty rolls like the Sweet 16—shrimp tempura, cucumber, lobster salad, seared pepper tuna and avocado served with spicy citrus sauce; the Rainbow Brite—tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado topped with sweet chili lobster salad and fried onion mango masala sauce, sure to be a favorite of any child of the ’80s; and an extensive menu that includes hibachi, featured items like Filet Mignon Tataki, and lunch specials.
Billy Joel was recently spotted at the Huntington location and since just down the block from the new Syosset location is Christiano’s Italian Restaurant, the inspiration for “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant” it’s not too far off to say Joel could be stopping by Kashi’s new locale in the future.
