Instead of their usual gym period, Woodward Parkway Elementary Students in grades K-5 were recently treated to a week of fun circus-themed lessons targeted at enhancing motor skills and concentration.
For the whole week, acrobatic artists Liam and Little Lou from the National Circus Project worked with students, showing them how to spin plates, balance sticks, juggle yo-yos, and walk on stilts.
According to Assistant Principal Jennifer DeHayes, the acrobatic artists also helped put on an interactive workshop on Friday evening, at which fourth-grade students were give a chance to show parents what they had learned.
