Long-time resident of Port Washington Ann McGuire, aged 95, died Jan 23, in Houston TX, where she had moved in 2010 to be near family.
Ann is remembered at St. Francis Hospital where she worked for 25 years and rose to the position of Assistant Director of Nursing. She also served on the board of the Port Washington Water District.
She enjoyed the local AARP chapter and was its president for several terms. As a parishioner of St. Peter of Alcantara Church since 1952, Ann participated in their ministries.
She is survived by her children, Eileen Leffler, Thomas McGuire and Richard McGuire by grandchildren Bill, Tom, Kevin and Darrin, and by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Knowles Funeral Home, 128 Main Street.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic church at 10:30 March 1st. Internment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
