The Port Washington Children’s Center (PWCC) is honoring longtime Port residents Arlene and Joe Labenson at this year’s Annual Scholarship Gala Celebration, to be held Thursday, May 1, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., at The Swan Club, 90 Glenwood Road, Roslyn.
Through more than 30 years of dedication and commitment, Arlene and Joe have enriched the Port Washington community, providing support and encouragement to the Port Washington Children’s Center and many other charitable and civic endeavors, a PWCC spokeswoman said.
Arlene is the Director of Advocacy and Parent Services at the Child Care Council of Nassau and Joe is a certified public accountant with his own firm in Great Neck.
The reception will feature an open bar, full dinner, and dancing to the music of the band, Mystic.
There will be a brief live auction featuring golf packages, theater and sports tickets, winery tours, and more, plus an auction to help raise funds for children’s scholarships for summer programs.
Tickets are $150, and many different levels of sponsorship opportunities are available. For tickets to the gala, or to place a personalized ad on the Scroll of Honor, contact Veronica Casamassima at the PWCC, 883-4864.
The PWCC is a non-profit child care center located in the Landmark on Main Street building, serving children from toddlers through Pre-K, plus KidsPort for students in grades K-6, the after school activity program at Daly School, and the new Port Day Camp summer program (formerly ATLAST).
