Hundreds of residents gathered Monday night to sound off on PSEG’s 80-foot utility pole installation that has already begun on Port Washington Boulevard.

The leadership of Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington were in attendance as well as PSEG LI CEO David Daly.

The poles are being installed because they are safer and stronger in storms, according to PSEG. But many residents believe the poles are unsafe due to their size, unsightly and that transmission lines would be better if run underground. More details to come…
