On March 30 the Manhasset High School Crew team held its second annual Off The Water 5K Walk/Run fundraiser at Flower Hill Park. Despite the rain, hundreds of participants came out to race or stroll through the course, while raising funds for two great causes.
Proceeds from the event will fund additional equipment for the expanding MHS crew team. In addition, 10 percent of monies raised will be donated to the De Rosa Foundation, a fund raising awareness for colon cancer and the promotion of research to advance the prevention and early treatment of this disease.
Event chairpersons Barbara Thermos, Christine Andriotis, Molly DePietro and Coach Tara Marsigliano organized the event.
The event was sponsored by several local businesses including A&F Market, Cafe Continental, Cedar Creek Interiors, Drink Duets, European Wax Center, Forest Pork Store, Fundamental Sports, LLC, Grassroots, Harvey Passes D.D.S., Inside the Armoire, Manhasset Bagels, North Shore Farms, Round Hill Music, Sagaponac, The Women’s Club of Flower Hill, Yiayia G’s Cookies. Special thanks to the Carroll, D’Angelo, Delaney, Farrell, Foglio, Gahan, Henry, Keriazes, Messina, Panetta, Repucci, Scrobe, and Vetrone families.
