Dean Martin — Memories Are Made Of This

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library welcomes guests to enjoy clips from Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis performances, interviews and footage with guests such as Carl Reiner and Dick Van Dyke, as well as Dean Martin singing some of his best-known songs. This event is part one of a series, featuring Jack Schnur. Event is April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Jewish Center Craft Fair

The Manetto Hill Jewish Center, 244 Manetto Hill Rd., will host a craft fair April 27 at 10 a.m. Hosted by the Jewish Center sisterhood, the craft fair with feature many handmade items all for sale to the craft-minded public. For more information, call 516-935-5454.

Library Golden Anniversary

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library welcomes residents to help the library celebrate 50 years serving the community. The event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. and features a variety of events, including Ron & Julie Anne Meixsell in the auditorium at 2 p.m. and Dave Anthony on guitar throughout the day. Musical Trip

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library will host a bus trip to the Shoenfeld Theatre in New York City for a 10:30 a.m. showing of The Bridges of Madison County, a new musical. Based on the best-selling novel by James Waller, this new musical tells the story of a devoted Iowa housewife and her unlikely love affair with a National Geographic photographer. Starring Kelli O’Hara as Francesca Johnson and Steve Pasquale as Robert Kincaid. Tony award winning director Bartlett Sher (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza) helms the musical which has a score by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For a New World). The trip is open to all, at $122 per person and includes luxury bus transportation, matinée performance and prime orchestra seats. For more information, call 516-938-0077.

Express Yourself Poetry Contest

Visit the Mid-Island Y JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Rd., on May 1 at 9 a.m. and express yourself through the art of poetry. Adults and children can enter the poetry contest to win a prize. Gayl Teller will read entries and select a winner in each category. Winners will then read their poems at the June 1 session. The cost is $5 per poem. LOL Comedy Night

Join Last Hope Animal Rescue at Governor’s Comedy Club, 90 Division Ave. in Levittown, for LOL Comedy Night benefiting the Animal Rescue. Tickets are $20, all of which will be donated to Last Hope, and there is a two drink minimum. Governor’s offers a full menu, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early and have dinner. There will be a raffle basket and a 50/50, with all proceeds benefiting Last Hope’s dog and cat adoption programs plus community outreach. The Breast Of Everything

Harvey Granat

The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library presents crooner Harvey Granat and his show, “From Gershwin To Sammy Cahn” at 8 p.m. Join Granat at the library as he sings some of the greatest songs from the country’s leading lyricists and composers, along with unique inside stories behind the songs and their creators, including Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Irving Berlin and more. Lions Club Meeting

Serving the Plainview-Old Bethpage and Bethpage communities since 1957, the Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second Wednesday of every month except July and August. The Lions Club strives to make a difference in local communities and encourages residents to come in and voice their concerns. Babies And BimBam

A fun, interactive class at HANC of Plainview for children who turned two by Dec. 31, 2013. Cost is $50 for six classes, or pay-as-you-go for $10 per class. Classes will be meeting on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more information, contact shecht@hanc.org, or call 681-5922.

Clutterers Anonymous

A 12-step self-help group, offers help and support to those who have clutter problems in their homes or workplace. Meets at the following locations: Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 265 Asbury Ave., Westbury first and third Friday, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the School of the Community Reformed Church, 90 Plandome Rd., Manhasset.
