Changing Times Pub is now 2 and 0 after a hard fought, nail-biting battle with BK Sweeney’s.
In the top of the first inning, CT drew first blood by scoring 2 runs, led by Neil Strocchia (3-4) 1RBI and Larry Ortolani (3-4) 1RBI.
But BK wouldn’t give up. Back and forth it went, one run here, one run there. Both teams found themselves all tied up at the top of the ninth.
But the game-deciding blow came from Mike Corda with a 3-run blast (2-4) 3RBI’s.
Darrin Azar’s sharp pitching, a great diving catch from Dave Thorburn and smooth double plays made by Otrolani all made it possible for CT to earn the 9-8 win.
After all, it is a team sport, so everyone “pitches” in.
