Plainview Native Displays Sportsmanship

A tennis player and graduate of Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School is being lauded by his college for sportsmanship.

Senior Shaun Bernstein is the University of Michigan’s Sportsmanship Award honoree. The student-athletes chosen for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award are individuals that have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the student-athletes must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. A three-time captain, Bernstein owns 121 career victories for the Maize and Blue, including 76 doubles wins, which rank 10th all-time in program history.
