On Monday, May 5, the Floral Park Lions Club held its annual Mickey Finn Swing Into Spring golf tournament. The tournament is named in honor of Mickey Finn, a former Lion and a leader in the community. Fifty-two enthusiastic golfers enjoyed a sunny day at the North Shore Towers Golf Course.
The day began with breakfast in the clubhouse, and continued with 18 holes using a “best ball format” and lunch at the turns. The day concluded with dinner at Crabtree’s Restaurant in Floral Park.
Dinner included an awards ceremony and a raffle of prizes that were donated by local businesses. All of the profits from the outing will go to charity.
Lions Clubs International, established in 1917, is the world’s largest service organization. There are over 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members worldwide.
The Floral Park Lions Club was established in 1925, making it one of the oldest clubs in the world.
