Ronald Javello

Ronald Frank Javello, most recently of Morristown, New Jersey died peacefully Sunday, May 11 at the age of 83. A memorial service will be held at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, New Jersey on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. with a Memorial Gathering from 10 a.m. until the service.

Born and raised in Three Rivers, Michigan, Ron was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Class of 1953B, at Kings Point, New York. Upon graduation, he went to sea working on merchant vessels around the world. When he came ashore, he worked for Columbus Lines and City of New York in the Lindsey administration. He started two New York City based businesses thereafter, Northstar Brokerage and Handsel Marine Services, which he operated for the majority of his career. Ron traveled the world as part of his business, making dozens of trips to Europe and Asia, and making many close friends around the world. Upon retirement, he dedicated his life to helping others.

Ron lived many years in the New York metropolitan area. He started his married life in Brooklyn, New York where his son Mark was born. He later moved to Port Washington, New York, then Manhasset, New York. He also lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan and finally Morristown, New Jersey.

Ron enjoyed sailing and was a crew member as a navigator for a number of races to Bermuda. Later in life, he enjoyed racing his sailboat in Manhasset Bay and Long Island Sound, New York. Ron was dedicated to his family, and cherished every moment with his grandchildren, and attended many of their sporting events and school concerts.

Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mimi. He is survived by his son Mark, his daughter-in-law Karen, and his four grandchildren Kyle, Nina, Bryan and Sadie.
