Tavern 18 Grills A Great…Everything

If you’re looking for a wide variety of steak choices or a hamburger with all the fixings, you will find it right around the corner at Tavern 18 in New Hyde Park. Located at 265-11 Union Tpke., right on the borderline of Nassau and Queens, the restaurant has been in business since 2009. Co-owners Roger Bajana and Vincent DiRico, who also own Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, have opened a place that serves familiar, hearty cuisine in a comfortable establishment.

“We serve some of the best steaks and burger choices around,” said Bajana. “We also have a wide variety of drinks and specials at our bar that a lot of other places don’t offer.”

Tavern 18 serves up an excellent prime steak accompanied with a port wine reduction and complimentary sides. They have specially prepared fresh seafood and you’ll need to bring your appetite for their famous charbroiled 10 oz. burger.

The bar menu offers a wide variety of craft beers and almost any kind of spirits ranging from scotch, whiskey and bourbon selections.

Happy hour, which goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., has many specials including 25-cent wings on Monday, $8 burgers on Wednesday and half price appetizers on Thursday.

Tavern 18 is especially popular with the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital employees and staff, with the Hospital being located right around the corner from the restaurant.

Tavern 18 is open on Monday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Tuesday to Friday from 11 to 3 for lunch and 3-10 for dinner. On Saturday the restaurant is open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 11-3 for brunch on Sunday and 4-9 for dinner.
