Bus To The Ballet

Blood Drive
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library will hold a blood drive on June 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. in downstairs meeting rooms A and B. All are invited to come down and help refill the blood bank.

Cover To Cover Book Club
Moderators Beth Spickler-Lerman and Gretchen Browne will lead a discussion on The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan at the Mid-Island Y JCC from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Shabbat Under The Stars
The Plainview Jewish Center, 95 Floral Dr., presents a barbecue dinner for perspective members starting at 5:45 p.m. The event is free for prospective members and congregants who RSVP with prospective members, all others pay $20 per adult and $12 per child, pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The barbecue dinner will be catered by Robert Ian Caterers. Adult Summer Reading Club
The Plainview library continues to celebrate 50 years with its adult summer reading club. Movie: Captain Phillips
The Plainview library presents two showings, 3 and 7:30 p,m., of this Tom Hanks movie. Captain Phillips is a multi-layered examination of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates. A pulse-pounding thriller which focuses on the relationship between Captain Phillips and the Somali pirate leader.

Lions Club Meeting
Serving the Plainview-Old Bethpage and Bethpage communities since, the Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second Wednesday of every month except July and August. The Lions Club strives to make a difference in local communities and encourages residents to come in and voice their concerns. Clutterers Anonymous
This 12-step self-help group offers help and support to those who have clutter problems in their homes or workplace.
