On Saturday, July 26, Rep. Steve Israel (D–New York) held a headquarters opening and campaign kickoff at his new Syosset Campaign Headquarters, located at 617 Jericho Turnpike, Syosset, New York.
Israel said he was thrilled to have such strong support from across the district as he starts his campaign, as his supporters have made more than 50,000 phone calls and knocked on more than 15,000 doors.
“I am thrilled to open our new Syosset headquarters and kick off our campaign,” said Israel. “I have spent a career standing up for middle-class families, and I won’t stop fighting to lower taxes, protect Social Security and Medicare, and make sure our veterans have the care and benefits they deserve. This new headquarters will help us bring our message directly to the voters, and I couldn’t be prouder of it.”
Israel is pushing for sensible tax reform and fiscal responsibility that recognizes the high cost-of-living in New York. He has also been driving the fight to protect Social Security and Medicare for seniors and to make smart investments in education, high-tech research, and job training to bring higher-paying jobs to our community. Locally, Israel has been a champion for veterans, bringing home more than $7 million in back payments for veterans in his district.
