On Aug. 22, 2013, the world lost another one of its young, bright lights. Massapequa High School senior Jake Brice passed away from PTLD, a form of cancer. More than a year later, his family and friends have been keeping his memory alive through the Jake Brice Memorial Fund.
To celebrate Brice’s love for life, the fund will host its first annual charity golf outing, teeing off on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Smithtown Landing Golf Course, 495 Landing Ave. The outing includes 18 holes, BBQ lunch/dinner buffet, open bar, a golf cart, and entertainment from Long Island comedian Rich Walker.
Join in for a day of fun, food, entertainment and golf as the Jake Brice Memorial Fund honors its beloved namesake. Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, hole in one, best and worst scores, along with a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Registration for the event begins at 12:30 p.m.
Scholarships from the fund are given to those students who, like Jake, have shown great humanity, strength and courage in the face of adversity. To learn more about Jake’s story or to make a donation, visit www.jakebricememorialfund.com.
