MSA Party At Creek Club

The Main Street Association of Oyster Bay holds its End of the Season party at The Creek Beach Club, 1 Horse Hollow Rd., Locust Valley, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person and $150 at the door. West Shore Road Update

A representative of the Nassau County Dept. of Public Works will be speaking on Phase 2 of the upcoming work for West Shore Road (south of Cleft Road to Beekman Beach) at the Oyster Bay Civic Association meeting, 7:30 p.m., at the Italian-American Citizens Club, 48 Summit St., Oyster Bay. All are welcome.

Bayville Car Show

Summer Nights Dream Cruise, benefiting Flags for Classrooms, Pets for Vets, and more, takes place from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Fridays through Oct. 31 at Ransom Beach, 10 Bayville Ave. Show vehicles fee, $5; spectators are free. Call 882-5022 for information.

Harvest Moon Dinner Dance

6:30 to 9:30 p.m. An evening of music, dancing, food and wine. Celebrate the fruits of Autumn with this special harvest-themed meal. Proceeds r benefit the center’s programs. Seating is limited. St. Francis Hospital Free Health Screening 

St. Francis Hospital Community Outreach Program will provide free health screenings at the Locust Valley Library, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The screenings include: a brief cardiac history, blood pressure, a simple blood test for cholesterol and diabetes. Patient education and referrals are provided, as needed, for adults above the age of 18. The St. Francis Hospital Community Bus will be in the lower parking lot. No appointments needed. 

Autumn Folk Fest

Brookville/Early Autumn Folk Fest, LI Cares Benefit with special guest Sandy Chapin, poet, songwriter and co-founder with the late Harry Chapin of LI Cares. Plus folk music performed by local musicians. Refreshments. Raffles. Harbor, Beach Cleanup

Six sites are scheduled for cleanup on the 30th International Coastal Cleanup Day, Sept. 20. Friends of the Bay is expanding the cleanup. To volunteer at Centre Island Beach, Stehli Beach or Theodore Roosevelt Beach just show up at 8 a.m. and get trash bags, data sheets and guidance. At Caumsett Park the cleanup starts at 10 a.m.; call 631-561-5339 for info. The West Neck Beach number to call for details is 631-239-5812. Adult CPR

Lori Green, a registered nurse, certified CPR instructor and former EMT, will teach the life-saving skills of CPR and the use of the AED. Certification is received upon completion of the three-hour workshop. Payment due at registration; $35 payable to Lori Green. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library.

Invasive English Ivy Pull at Shu Swamp 

Join the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society in helping to restore one of the finest preserves on Long Island. Come to the swamp for this fun and worthwhile effort. Snacks will be provided to the volunteers. Bring garden gloves if you have them; wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. 10 a.m. Call 516-695-0763 to register.

Colonial Encampment

Raynham Hall Museum, 20 West Main St., presents The Art of History: A Colonial Encampment and Re-enactment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It includes a military drill, cooking demonstration, historic toys and ice cream. Free and open to the public. For information call 922-6808.

Monday, Sept. 22

Gentle Yoga

The Locust Valley Library sponsors Gentle Yoga, Mondays, with Gerry McKay from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the LV Firehouse. The10 sessions cost $25. Book Signing

Author George Kirchmann visits the Oyster Bay Historical Society at 7 p.m. to discuss his book, Signs of the Times: Massapequa’s Historical Markers. Hiking Long Island

Lee McAllister will be at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library for a slide-show and lecture presentation about hiking opportunities around Long Island. Lee McAllister is a naturalist, photographer and the author of two books on hiking. Lee has spent several years photographing the natural beauty that can be experienced by walkers on Long Island. Cruise Nights 

Cruise Nights is held weekly Tuesdays on Audrey Avenue and continues through the year until Sept. 30. The fee is $5 per vehicle and visitors are free. Live music is performed by celebrity musicians, with auctions and raffles to benefit the Historic OB-EN Chamber of Commerce.
