Leading research scientist at Stanford University, Professor Craig Garner, is coming to Long Island to speak on “Developing therapies to improve cognitive abilities in individuals with Autism and Down syndrome”. Prof. Garner studies neurodevelopmental disabilities with a research focus on Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorders.
Prof. Garner’s presentation will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Manhasset Public Library. It is free of charge and all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
He is also presenting at the 5th Annual Swing for Hope fundraiser at Plandome Country Club on Monday, Oct. 6 which will benefit The Matthew Foundation. The Matthew Foundation has a multi-pronged strategy to improve the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. They are supporting cognition research which includes Alzheimer’s Disease research, promoting inclusion, and developing employment opportunities.
