On Saturday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. as Jimmy Webb and Jane Monheit present a new show created to kick off Landmark on Main Street’s 2014-15 Season.
Jimmy Webb, who calls Long Island his home, was the youngest man ever inducted into the National Songwriters’ Hall of Fame and is the current Chairman. Some of the great songs he penned include MacArthur Park, Wichita Lineman, Worst That Could Happen, Galveston, and Up, Up And Away.
Jane Monheit, a Long Island native and an alumni of Usdan Center for Creative and Performing Arts, has been a leading light in both the jazz and cabaret worlds since emerging as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Institute’s 1998 vocal competition.
The concert features new interpretations of Webb’s catalogue with Jimmy on piano and Monheit’s vocals and backing musicians. This will be the first time they will perform together.
Landmark on Main Street supporters include: Fern & Hersh Cohen, Entertainment One, Carol & Sandy Krieger, Nassau Emergency Medicine: Emergency Medicine at St. Francis Hospital, Sahn Ward Coschignano & Baker PLLC and Maureen & Joe Wekselblatt.
