The Farmingdale College Foundation at Farmingdale State College has added two new members to its Board of Directors, with a local resident among the newly appointed.
Massapequa resident Maureen P. Knott, who is the vice president of product advertising for Henry Schein Inc. in Melville, was recently welcomed to the board.
Knott has worked in the marketing department at Henry Schein Inc. in various capacities since 1986. She was promoted to vice president in 2011. Knott manages a staff of eight in the product advertising team that handles marketing for the Henry Schein Dental division. She is a board member for Oral Health America, where she is also chair of the communications committee. Adding to her list of accolades, Knott also serves on the American Cancer Society Board of Advisors.
The Farmingdale College Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that provides scholarships, faculty development grants, and support of programs and projects that are not state-funded. Among the projects the Foundation has funded are the STEM Diversity Conference, the DARE to Risk Entrepreneurship program, and the Excellence in Teaching and Professional Service Awards.
Farmingdale State College continues to prepare students with the education, skills, and critical thinking needed to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
