Salerno Named Chief Of Police

After serving as Acting Chief since May of last year, James Salerno will be promoted the 10th Chief of the Port Washington Police District.
Salerno last spring replaced Chief William J. Kilfoil, who retired after nearly 40 years of service, the last 20 as chief of police.
Salerno has been with the Port police 29 years.
His appointment was unanimously approved by the Board of Police Commissioners of the Port Washington Police District.
A swearing in ceremony will be held on Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co. #1, 25 Carlton Ave.
