Sukkot Service

Chazak Three Hour Holiday Drop-off Program Join Temple Sinai of Roslyn for a Chazak Three Hour Holiday Drop-off Program from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Chazak is an ongoing program for children 6–14, with developmental differences. See your child grow, learn, and thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment. Lunch is included, parents are welcome to stay. Sinai Social Club Sukkah Social

Join Temple Sinai of Roslyn at 7:30 p.m. for a Sinai Social Club Sukkah Social with Comedian Mark Brier. This humorous program filled with clean, rib-tickling jokes, anecdotes and terrific impressions is sure to make you smile. Mark has been performing for over 35 years on cruise ships, at resorts, comedy clubs and conventions. Featured in Newsday for his popular Laughs at the Library program, Brier has engaged audiences in more than 70 New York State libraries. Members: free, non-members suggested contribution: $5. Simchat Torah Evening Service

 

The community is invited to come at 7 p.m. to Simchat Torah Evening Service and Consecration. October Movie

At both 2 and 8 p.m., the Shelter Rock Library will present its October movie, Million Dollar Arm. A down-on-his-luck sports agent, JB Bernstein stages an unconventional recruitment strategy. After viewing cricket matches on television, he goes to India to try to get young, talented cricket players to come to America to be trained as pro-players for major league baseball. Shabbat LaNeshama

 

Come to Shabbat LaNeshama at 7:45 p.m.   On the third Friday night of each month, Shabbat LaNeshama is a service of gentle, soothing, contemplative music. Its rhythms, melodies and English readings will quiet the heart, slow the mind and relax the spirit.  The talented ISRA-Alien guitar duo (Gilad Ben Zvi and Oren Neiman) join Cantors Sergei and Elena Schwartz and give us a beautiful, peaceful reprieve from the hectic pace of our daily lives. Bibles And Bagels

 

Come to Bibles and Bagels at 10 a.m.  For generations, Jews throughout the world have gathered on Shabbat morning to study the words of the weekly Torah portion.  Join Rabbi Gordon at as we delve into the mysterious and complex stories of our ancient Bible.  Together we will look to find meaning by studying both medieval and modern commentary.  A scrumptious bagel breakfast with all of the trimmings will be served along with delicious coffee.  Nosh on a bagel, glean some wisdom from our tradition and share your thoughts.  A brief Minyan service will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at the start of Bible and Bagels. Temple Judea to host Steve Israel

The Greatest Generation of Temple Judea of Manhasset is proud to announce that Rep. Steve Israel will be their guest speaker on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. The topic Rep. Bridge Games

Newplicate (supervised duplicate) Bridge is held at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center, 272 Shelter Rock Rd., Roslyn, every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon for bridge students, new players and social bridge players welcome.
