The Third Squad is investigating a Burglary that occurred on October 12 in Westbury.
According to detectives, a male employee of Old Country Food Mart, 962 Old Country Road closed and secured the business at 12:30 a.m. and returned to open at 7:15 a.m. As the employee opened the door he noticed the alarm was already off. The victim immediately went inside to find that one of the registers was opened and all the cash was missing from inside. The victim continued to walk through the store and found the NYS Lottery register and an ATM machine had both been pried opened with an undetermined amount of cash missing. Approximately $35,000 in cigarettes, $2500 in cigars and an undetermined amount of printed lottery tickets were also taken. After an investigation it was determined that the unknown subject(s) cut a 2×2 foot hole in the roof and entered the store. A DVD player belonging to the alarm system was also stolen.
