Movie: Draft Day
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Library presents two showings at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. of the movie Draft Day. At the NFL Draft, General Manager Sonny Weaver (Kevin Costner) must decide what he’s willing to sacrifice to rebuild his team when he trades for the number one pick. 4th Annual Harvest Festival
The fourth annual harvest festival will take place at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 99 Central Park Road, Plainview from noon to 4 p.m. This family event will feature pony rides, children’s costume parade, pumpkin painting, tattoo and face painting, and scarecrow making for the kids. Guests can also enjoy a farmers’ market, bake sale, raffle baskets, beer, brats, hot dogs, pretzels and more. There is an activity fee for certain events. Rain date is Sunday, Oct 26. Haunted Halloween
Want more Halloween? Old Bethpage Village Restoration will host “1880 Haunted Halloween” on Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festivities will include a reading of Irish and American ghost stories, tales from the local grave digger, carving of Jack-O-Lanterns, a 19th century monster hunt throughout the Village, an encounter with the grim reaper and witches broom making. Old Bethpage Village Restoration provides visitors with a unique and wonderful opportunity to step back in time and experience life in a recreated mid-19th Century American village set on more than 200 acres.
