Nov. 2 to 9 marks Long Island Restaurant Week, a glorious 8-day period when you have an excuse to try out that new eatery (or eateries) that you’ve been eyeing longingly.
The bi-annual event aims to garner publicity and new customers for local restaurants, and eateries all over Nassau County are eager to participate. And so are the customers.
The promotion is a great way to sample delicious fare from eateries that may have flown under your radar, and expose your palate to new tastes. Most of the participating restaurants are locally owned and have unique offerings on their menus. In Farmingdale, you can try the cuisine of Cara Cara Mexican Grille or dip into some fondue at the Melting Pot.
Most restaurants require reservations and some have specific hours when the prix-fixe menu is available. For more information visit www.longislandrestaurantweek.com.
