Wednesday, Oct. 29

Multi-Chamber Networking Event

On Oct. 29, come and network with the Farmingdale, Amityville, Babylon Town, Copiague and Lindenhurst Chambers of Commerce, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Helen Butler Hall Theatre at Dominican Village, 565 Albany Ave. in Amityville. Afterwards enjoy a live performance of Murder on the Nile. Tickets cost $25, no walk-ins.

John Carpenter’s Halloween

On Oct. 30 to 31, the Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas, 1001 Broad Hallow Rd., will be screening one of the most horrifying films of all time, John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978). Rated R, 91 minutes. The film follows Michael Myers, a man who has spent the last 15 years locked away inside a sanitarium under the care of child psychologist Dr. Sam Loomis, until Oct. 30, 1978, when he escapes, turning a night of tricks and treats into something much more sinister for three young women.

Halloween Parade

This Halloween, ghosts and ghouls in the Farmingdale School District will line up for the annual Halloween parade. The parade will start with Saltzman East and Farmingdale High School at 9:15 a.m., followed by students from Albany Avenue at 9:30 a.m., and Northside and Woodward Parkway students at 9:45 a.m.

Fifth Grade Pumpkin Run

On Oct. 31, fifth grade students attending Northside Elementary will line-up outside at 1:50 p.m. for the annual Pumpkin Run. 

Sunday, Nov. 2

Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair

On Nov. 2, join the members of VFW Post #516, 635 Main St. in Farmingdale, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a variety of holiday crafts and goodies made by local artisans. 

Monday, Nov. 3

Board of Trustees

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held at 8 p.m., on Nov. 3 at Village Hall, 361 Main St. in Farmingdale. A public worksession will precede the meeting at 7 p.m.

 

PAL Unit Meeting

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Police Activity League will be held on Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at the PAL Clubhouse, 31 North Front St. in Farmingdale.

Election Day

All Farmingdale Schools will be closed for Election Day.

 

FBLI Meeting

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Baseball League Inc. will be held at 8 p.m., on Nov. 4, at Allen Park, 45 Motor Ave. 

Wednesday, Nov. 5

Board of Education Meeting

The next public meeting of the Farmingdale School District Board of Education will be held at 8 p.m., on Nov. 5 at Howitt Middle School, 70 Van Cott Ave. 

 

Trade Nassau

Chamber Meeting / Elections

The next meeting/annual elections of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be held at noon on Nov. 6, at Palmer’s American Grille, 123 Fulton St. in Farmingdale, featuring special guest speaker Rachelle Neuwirth with North Shore-LIJ who will be discussing healthcare. Members cost $23, non-members $28. 

Friday, Nov. 7

South Farmingdale Fire Department Open House

On Nov. 7, come down to the South Farmingdale Fire Department at 819 Main St., from 7 to 10 p.m., and meet your local volunteers and see the equipment they use. Come meet Sparky the dog, visit the teddy bear clinic, check your child safety seat, witness live demonstrations of the Jaws of Life and an oven fire, screen your blood pressure and more.

Saturday, Nov. 8

KilianFest

On Nov. 8, join the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, from 7-11 p.m., in the auditorium at 50 Cherry St. in Farmingdale for KilianFest. Sponsored by the St. Kilian’s Pastoral Council, the event features raffle prizes, live music from the Electric Dudes, your choice of six entrees, bread, salsa, beer, wine, soda and homemade desserts. Costs $40 per person. The church is also requesting any non-perishable food and/or toiletry items for Outreach.
