Popcorn Balls

The Hicksville Volunteer firefighters along with Santa’s helpers will tour the community tossing out popcorn balls to call attention to their annual fire safety open house. The firetrucks will start touring Hicksville at 10 a.m.

Craft Fair

St. Ignatius Boy Scouts Troop 382 will be hold a craft fair at Msgr. Tarrant Hall, St. Ignatius Loyola Parish on East Nicholai Street. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call 516-942-7910.

Christmas Craft Fair

Holy Trinity High School, at 98 Cherry Lane in Hicksville, will hold a craft fair with over 100 vendors selling crafts and new merchandise. Breakfast and lunch served, bake sale, raffles and a 50/50. Tree Lighting

The Hicksville-Jericho Rotary Club will be hosting the 19th annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Kennedy Park beginning at 5 p.m. In addition to the large tree in the center of the park decorated by the members of the Hicksville Fire Department, 20 additional trees decorated by local Hicksville businesses, will be lit simultaneously at dark. There will be refreshments, entertainment and even a visit from Santa Claus. More info on page 3.


December 7

Fire Safety Open House

The Hicksville Fire Department will hold their annual fire safety open house at the Strong Street Fire House, located at W. John St. from noon to 3 p.m. There will be a visit from Santa and his helpers. Children and their parents will also get to learn important fire safety information on topics such as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and see demononstrations, including a simulated fire and the extinguishing of a stove fire. There will also be fire engine rides.
