Police in Suffolk County continue to investigate a fatal accident that occurred on Nov. 23, along Rt. 109 in East Farmingdale.
According to Suffolk County detectives, Jeanne Grazia, 70, of Islip, was headed southeast in a 2012 Kia Forte, when her vehicle was struck head-on by a 1991 Buick Regal headed in the wrong direction, traveling northwest in the southeast lanes.
Emergency services immediately transported Grazia to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where she was pronounced dead on arrival by medical examiners.
Police identified the driver of the Buick as Susan Krebser, 46, of Levittown.
Following the crash, Krebser was also transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where she was reported in serious condition.
Krebser is accused of driving while intoxicated and has been given a field appearance ticket, to be arraigned at a later date, as of press time.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is ongoing.
