Wednesday, Dec. 17

Wind Ensemble & Chorus

On Dec. 17, Farmingdale High School students in the wind ensemble, mixed chorus and  women’s chorus, will take the stage at 7 p.m., for their winter recital. 

Thursday, Dec. 18

Middle School Band and Chorus Concert

On Dec. 11, Howitt Middle School students in the seventh and eighth grade band and chorus will take the stage at 7 p.m., for their winter recital. 

 

Living Faith Church Concerts

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Living Faith Christian Church, 25 Hempstead Tpke. in Farmingdale, will hold its annual Christmas concerts on Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m., with encore performances on Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. For more information visit www.livingfaithny.org. 

 

Farmingdale Hawks

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Hawks football league will be held on Dec. 18, from 8:30 to 10 p.m., at Village Hall, 361 Main St.

 

Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

The next meeting of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be held on Dec. 18, at 8:30 a.m., at 100 Broadhollow Rd., Suite 104, in Farmingdale. 

Saturday, Dec. 20

STEM Expo

On Dec. 20, students in grades K-5, will place their science experiments on display, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the district’s annual science fair and STEM expo at the high school, 150 Lincoln St. in Farmingdale. 

 

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run

On Dec. 20, join the Greater Long Island Running Club, at 9:30 a.m., in front of John F. Kennedy Middle School, 500 Broadway in Bethpage, for the start of the 5K holiday run. Registration is open from 7:30-9:15 a.m. $25 to participate. 

 

Farmingdale SantaCon

Break out the red suit and bushy white beard, on Dec. 20, at 2 p.m., SantaCon will hit Main Street in the Village of Farmingdale. There is a recommended donation of $5 to participate. All of the proceeds from the event will go to benefit Toys of Hope. 

Sunday, Dec. 21

FUMC Holiday Services

On Dec. 21, the Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main St., will hold special services at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on the four Sundays in Advent. Special activities include a Christmas Cantata by the Chancel Choir and Bell Choir and a children’s pageant during the 9:30 service. 

 

Early Bird Bowling

On Dec. 21, come to Farmingdale Lanes, 999 Conklin St., from 9 a.m.-noon, for $2 games. Shoe rental is $4.50 per rental. For more information call 631-249-4300. 

 

Children’s Christmas Party

On Dec. 21, the Farmingdale Knights of Columbus will once again host its Annual Children’s Christmas Party at the Council Hall, 1 Morton St. in Farmingdale. Participants will include approximately 100 boys and girls ranging in age from infants to twelve years old. For more information call 631-755-2204. 

Monday, Dec. 22

LOTE Holiday Party

On Dec. 22, Farmingdale High School students in the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) program will hold a holiday party, from 2:15-3:15 p.m., inside the school’s cafeteria B. 

 

Holiday Performances at Westfield Sunrise

On Dec. 22, performers from Wantagh High School will team up with the Salvation Army to perform for shoppers, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Westfield Sunrise Mall, 1 Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. 

Wednesday, Dec. 24

FUMC Christmas Eve Services

On Dec. 24, join the Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main St., at 3 p.m. for a traditional service with carols and communion. A family candlelight service with carols will be held at 7:30 p.m., followed by a traditional candlelight service with carols at 10:30 p.m. The public is welcome at all services. Christmas Eve Services

On Dec. 24, the Living Faith Christian Church, 25 Hempstead Tpke. in Farmingdale, will hold Christmas even services at 4 and 6 p.m.

 

Children’s Christmas Eve Service

This Christmas Eve, St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 145 Prospect St., will hold a special service for children and parents at 3:30 p.m. inside Fellowship Hall. 

 

St. Luke’s Christmas Eve Services

On Dec. 24, St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 145 Prospect St., will hold candlelight services for the Mass of the Angels, at 7 p.m., and the Mass of the Shepherds at 10:30 p.m. inside Fellowship Hall. Incense will be used during the 10:30 p.m. service. 

St. Kilian Christmas Pageant

On Dec. 24, parents and children in grades 3-8 are invited to participate in St. Kilian’s Christmas Eve Family Mass at 5:15 p.m., featuring the annual Christmas Pageant, a parish tradition.
