The Farmingdale State men’s and women’s indoor track teams competed at the Manhattan College “Brother Jasper” Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13 and placed in 13 different events. The men were led by sophomore Jacob Kashani of Roslyn who placed third in the one-mile in 4:58.75, while freshman Konrad Rogowski of Massapequa took fifth in 5:08.61.
In the 60m high hurdles, senior Jonathan Gortman of Dix Hills recorded a fifth place finish in 9.04. Junior Jovanni Parkinson of Wyandanch led Farmingdale State in the 200m as he took fifth in 23.02 and sophomore Karl Nilsen of Smithtown finished fifth in the pole vault (3.90m/12’9½”).
The women were led by freshman Nicole Franz’s of Melville personal best time and seventh-place finish in the 1 mile (6:10.65). Finishing one spot behind Franz, was freshman Megan Eiseman of Seaford in 6:19.39.
Junior Erin Donovan of Farmingdale recorded a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.59m (15’¾”) and sophomore Maia Cadle-Hinton of Huntington was fifth in the 20 lb weight throw with a toss of 12.55m (41’2¼”).
The Rams next will travel to the New Balance Track and Field Center for the NYU Gotham Cup on Friday, Jan. 16.
