Letter: Public Servants and Right Relations

What has happened to public servants who are supposed to make and uphold the laws? To protect people in communities no matter what their religion, creed or sexual orientation? It seems to me, they have become fewer and fewer. Too many public servants appear above the law. They use and abuse the law they have sworn to abide by.

In my opinion, what is lacking is right relations. If they had right relations with each other, if people and public servants were in continuous contact with each other, they would see each other as human beings of value. Then the problems of disaffected communities would begin to diminish.

I think all of us should think about the “Love Thy Neighbor” mantra and start to live it, especially in this season which promotes the love of all humanity.
