The New Rochelle Art Association announced The Annual Adolph Grant Award Show showcased Mineola resident Tong Wei Zhang’s oil painting, watercolor, photography, pastels, sculpture, crafts, blends as media and computer design work. Zhang won Best in Show. Her art will be on display through Jan. 31 in the Mineola Library at 195 Marcellus Rd.
Zhang’s works were highly praised for composition and character facial expressions, potrayed coloring and the character’s inner chiaroscuro scene vividly show the whole picture of pure nature. Her feature of the Hmong girl accessories are profound and hold detailed color representation.
Zhang recently won first place in the National Fine Arts Open. In recent years, she has illustrated 112 Heads ofState portraits, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Ban Ki.
