During the week of Jan. 26, students at all three elementary schools in the Plainedge School District participated in the Great Kindness Challenge.
A weeklong devotion to performing as many acts of kindness as possible, the challenge is an international program for kindergarten through 12th-grade students. Throughout the week, students were encouraged to smile at others, thank those like cafeteria staff or bus drivers, and do simple acts of kindness towards others as well as their peers as often as possible.
Students were reminded that kindness can be shown everyday.
