The Friends of the Library (FOL) has selected the featured authors for its 46th Annual Richard D. Whittemore Book & Author Luncheon: Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Jules Feiffer, who just published his first noir graphic novel, Kill My Mother, and acclaimed novelist Mary Gordon, whose most recent book is The Liar’s Wife, four compelling novellas of Americans in Europe and Europeans in America.

The luncheon will take place Friday, May 15, at the North Hills Country Club. Port’s own best-selling novelist, Susan Isaacs, will once again serve as moderator. Reservation information will be available April 1 in the library and at www.pwpl.org/fol.

“We are very proud to bring two such wonderful authors to our community,” said Amy G. Bass, FOL president. “The FOL Book and Author Luncheon is a tradition in Port Washington and one of the North Shore’s most highly anticipated annual events, with attendance typically surpassing 300 people.”

The Book & Author Luncheon is the FOL’s sole fundraising event and plays a critical role in the organization’s ability to continue to support programs and services throughout the library.

The FOL welcomes individual and corporate sponsors at levels beginning at $250. Last year’s luncheon was generously supported by more than 30 sponsors.
