Last week the Floral Park Dispatch reported about the swiftness of the village’s clean up following Winter Storm Thor as well as the reports of the post-winter road damage being reported by residents and business owners. Village officials had reported that crews from the Department of Public Works (DPW) were, in fact, repairing potholes as quickly as possible and there was evidence of that throughout the village.
The following is a statement released by the Village of Floral Park about the ongoing road repair:
“Like every municipality around us, the harshness of this winter has certainly taken its toll on the village’s roads. Our DPW crews are currently working to fill potholes and to keep up with them as they are created. However, any pothole repairs now are by their nature temporary. Permanent pothole repair will have to wait until there is more of a thaw in the roads and, hopefully, that should be within the next few weeks. Residents are urged to report potholes in the village to DPW at 516-326-6320. We thank everyone for their patience.”
